  • 6:45 am: registration opens
  • 7:30 am: opening ceremony
  • 8:00 am: 5K & 1-mile fun run
Bring your whole family to enjoy a taste of the arts! A unique event that celebrates health, the arts, and individuality with a splash of vibrant color. Surprises throughout the run route with pop-up visual artists, musicians, and more. Walkers, runners, as well as seasoned racers of all ages are welcome. Race day will include prizes, music, crafts, snacks, and art. Dress like your favorite artist and join in the fun!

Spiva Center for the Arts believes that an investment in the arts is an investment in the community. Funds raised from the Arty 5K & Fun Run supports our advocacy, education, and outreach initiatives. Come walk, run, or dance through the Arty 5K & Fun Run and help us champion the arts community in the Joplin area. A collaborative art project, music, and more. Hit up our tie-dye station before or after the race!

  • Bandana you can tie-dye the day of the race

Awards:
5K Awards
  • Top three overall finishers | Male & Female
  • 1st-3rd place male and female finishers in the following age divisions:
    • 14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & Over
1-Mile Awards
  • All participants receive a finisher medal.
  • Please note 1 Mile Fun Run/walk is untimed.
Fundraising Recognition:
Online donations must be made by 5:00 pm on April 3, and cash/check donations will be accepted until 5:00 pm on April 4.

Age Limit:
There is no age limit on participation, but parent and child (0-17) must register and participate together. It is the responsibility of the parent(s) to determine whether you feel your child is properly trained and physically capable of successfully completing the events.

Weather:
We will host the race under most weather conditions: rain or shine. Extreme conditions or unsafe weather (lighting, extreme temperatures, etc.) may warrant a cancellation or rescheduling of the event. This is at the discretion of the race director and will be made based on the safety of the racers, volunteers, and spectators. Every effort will be made to continue with the race.
