A Message From Cheyenne Johnson

I am honored to be participating in the People’s Choice competition during Spiva in Bloom. You can support my floral design with a monetary donation. The artist who raises the most will receive 50% of the total funds raised, while the remaining 50% directly benefits the George A. Spiva Center for the Arts, supporting scholarships, educational outreach, classes, camps, and community programming. Thank you for your thoughtful support! My artist statement: I hope that as you take in my floral piece, inspired by this photo, you’ll pause to consider how viewing the world through different lenses and from different angles can completely transform perception. I invite you to explore every angle of this work—it’s filled with small, intentional details that echo the original image. I enjoy pushing the boundaries of what’s expected in floral design. The bold colors in this photo inspired me to create a vibrant, statement-making piece. There is nothing more fulfilling than taking an abstract idea from my mind and bringing it into reality—creating something tangible to share, a piece of myself. A special thank you to my dad for staying up late to help me build the frame for this piece.

At Spiva Center for the Arts, we believe art has the power to inspire, connect, and strengthen community. Our mission is to create meaningful opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to experience, make, and share art.

Your support helps bring that mission to life. Every gift makes a difference—fueling exhibitions, classes, camps, outreach programs, artist opportunities, and creative experiences that welcome and engage our community.

Our vision is for Spiva to be a vibrant community catalyst—uniting culture, education, business, and the arts to inspire creativity, support artists, and connect people through shared artistic experiences.
