A Message From Ann Shipman

I am honored to be participating in the People’s Choice competition during Spiva in Bloom.

You can support my floral design with a monetary donation. The artist who raises the most will receive 50% of the total funds raised, while the remaining 50% directly benefits the George A. Spiva Center for the Arts, supporting scholarships, educational outreach, classes, camps, and community programming.

Thank you for your thoughtful support!
My artist statement: As a maturing woman gazing into her yet to come, I deeply connected to the contemplations of the artist in his moment captured in time. Inspiring me to create a personal interpretation of my own intimate and spiritual connection with Life to Death, and nature. Using a hand crafted copper and stone tree to represent my own hand grasping onto the knowledge that I too will someday " Be a part of this land when I return to the earth." Incorporating petrified wood, stone, and bird feathers gathered upon many nature walks, each piece having their individual unique story to tell. Along with a combination of fresh and dried florals to depict the Eb & flow of Life and Death in nature, and the gentle beauty I see in both.
